The mess in Martin

Martin received a grant to remodel it’s downtown area and everybody was happy and excited about it. Now that work has begun and the main street is going to be closed people are furious. It’s tricky now getting around town it takes creativity. What was once a parking lot has become a major street. The noise hasn’t really been an issue yet, but the jackhammers haven’t made it up to the paper’s end of the street yet. I’m looking forward to seeing what Martin looks like after the makeover, it couldn’t look any worse.

i just heard that a friend of mine lost her mother to cancer. my heart is with her, but what can you say? she (my friend) is pretty gritty, but this is going to be one hell of a trial for her and her family. there’s nothing i can say or do. so powerless to help her with her grief. my heart is with her though, god help her and her family through this tough time.

According to a Zogby poll around 75% of American consumers are not going to be buying Chinese toys. So I guess all those Chinese toys will have to go to the Island of Misfits.

Boy, I’m tired. I feel about as tired as this guy looks. It’s too bad he’s our candidate from TN. He’s free trade, pro-war and he has no idea how much a gallon of milk costs. But then you have to ask yourself, are any of them in touch with reality?

Tommorrow I’m going with a reporter camera in hand to see John Edwards’ visit to Columbus KY. Should be interesting. This is all pretty random, sort of an update and what not. Found my bag. Boy do I feel sheepish (baaaa?) it was in my house the whole time. I found it when I was cleaning house. So now I feel like a great big jackass. Vacation was nice, it was good to hang out with HonkyG he’s crazy. Met some nice people. Then came home. (*sigh*) Most of you (all 8 or so) already know about the cover I’m doing for Kathy T, we’re still tweaking. Almost there. I was going to make you wait, but here it is anyhow…

I’m sure that China isn’t the only one funding oppressive regimes, but they support quite a few. This was a short list.
