Drawing 101: supplies
February 19, 2008 by cravensworld
I think I love drawing more than any other art form because it’s cheap. All you need is the following:
Some regular typing paper, or what have you at the ready (toilet paper & napkins only work with ballpoint)
Your run of the mill #2 pencil (sharp, always keep it sharp, see item 3)
A pencil sharpener (the cheap plastic one in your kid’s schoolbox will do nicely, but not the crayon sharpener)
An eraser (this is optional, if your pencil has one just use it)
As to where you draw, that can be anywhere as long as you are comfortable & relaxed (well comfortable anyhow, but try to relax we’re not launching rockets into space). Once you have all your stuff together I want you to do something, draw a picture. It doesn’t matter what the subject is, just make the drawing and file it away. You’ll need to refer to it from time to time to gage your progress.
Alrighty, sharpen those cheap #2 pencils and go to town! Class starts Monday!

This is going to be so cool. My drawing talent is comparable with my singing talent which is nonexistent at best, grating at worst. So yay for Beth!
